PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAM FOR ADULTS

The partial hospitalization program provides structured, time-limited, group oriented, intensive outpatient treatment. It is designed to treat adults aged 18 years and older experiencing the acute symptoms of significant psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, thought disorders and other problems that interfere with a person's ability to engage in normal daily activities.

Partial hospitalization provides appropriate, cost-effective treatment in the least restrictive setting possible to avoid inpatient hospitalization whenever possible. The clinical program offers interventions in a reassuring and helpful environment that strives to reflect and support the community it serves. It also helps patients transition to lower levels of care as they respond to treatment and gain increased levels of self-sufficiency.

Program services include:

Multi-disciplinary treatment teams that involve the patient, family members and care givers in the design and implementation of individualized plans of care;

Group therapy sessions that focus on symptom identification and coping skills, education about medications and other treatment options, and social and communications skills;

Group therapy sessions that emphasize nonverbal means of expression to assist those who are experiencing difficulty putting their feelings and problems into words;

Group-therapy sessions that broaden participants' understanding of resources within their communities and how to successfully access the services they need;

Discharge and after-care planning to assist in the continued healing and personal growth of each patient.
